At Weidmüller, new solutions for the energy sector are developed according to local or application-based installation requirements. In some countries, control and protection of switching installations for transmission and distribution networks must comply with the EA-TS 50-18 standard. The standard prescribes "spring-loaded" terminals in conjunction with hook-blade cable lugs in order to ensure additional safety. The Weidmüller "spring-loaded" terminals of the WDU SL series and the disconnect terminals of the WTL SL series comply with this standard. In the SL versions, the clamping yoke is backed up by a helical spring. Furthermore, this arrangement permits two conductors to be connected to one terminal when the hook-blade cable lugs are placed back to back. The aim of this arrangement is to ensure good electrical contact even if someone forgets to tighten the clamping screw!……
